Tour Itinerary for chared Marrakech to Fes Desert Trip

Day 1: 7-Hour Drive from Marrakech to Dades

You will be leaving Marrakech in the early morning, precisely at 7:00 am. After picking you up, you will travel through the mesmerizing Tizi-n-tichka pass. You will make frequent stops along the way and marvel at the gorgeous High Atlas Mountains. You will then pay the UNESCO world heritage site, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, before continuing on with your trip, that leads to a delicious lunch.

After that, you will travel through the Valley of Roses and head towards Boumalne Dades. You will eventually arrive at our boutique guest house that’s conveniently located in the amazing Dades valley.

You will have a hefty dinner and overnight. Rest assured, day two is going to be even more exciting, you just wait!

Day 2: 4-Hour Drive from Dade’s to Merzouga

Day two begins with Moroccan delights. After having a leisurely breakfast, you will travel through the road of 1001 Kabahs heading towards Tinghir. This place is simply breathtaking. The remains of, once fortified, villages will leave you in beautiful awe and your Marrakech to Fes desert tour guide will surely fill you in on any history that might have taken place. Tinghir used to be a military post when the French had occupied this part of Morocco.

After weeping tears of nostalgia, you will continue with your way heading towards the Oasis. You will get to see farmers doing their daily deeds and walk down a beautifully laid path – next to a stream. Morocco is as gorgeous as we describe it, or at least try to. However, we can’t possibly be making this out. If anything, we’re not doing it any favors; because words will never make you feel what we’re trying to describe.

After arriving at Todgha gorge, you will have a delightful lunch at a local café. Heading towards Rissani, one of Morocco’s holiest towns, you will learn amazing facts about the Alaouites and their story of origins. The founder is buried in the same Rissani, and this place is also known for being one of the starting points for trading caravans making their way to Tombouctou.

Meet up with your adorable desert companion.

You will cross some rocky terrain and make your way – along with your trusted guide – to Merzouga. Then, you will meet up with your Camel caravan, and get hyped to experience Morocco’s finest activity – Camel trekking.

You will have an amazing ride over Erg Chebbi sand dunes and then return to our secure Berber camp, in the middle of nowhere, nestled in the dunes of the golden desert.

This is another case where we’d terribly fail to describe its beauty. All we can say is, you wouldn’t want to leave.

Dear guest, you will be having a memorable night under the starlit skies of the desert. This place is mesmerizing. Cozy campfires, smooth sounds of Berber drums, and the – Moroccan – cherry on top, the most Moroccan meal in Morocco.

Day 3: 8-Hour Drive from Merzouga to Fez

It’s going to be quite challenging to live up to yesterday’s joyous vibe, but we never seem to fail anyone’s expectations. You will have an early rise to witness the desert’s beaming sunrise.

First, call out your adorable companion, then hop on. You will have an amazing breakfast at our Lodge in Merzouga. Also, you will be given plenty of time to carry on with your last minute hugs, to those leaving for Marrakech.

Now, you will meed your new driver, who is equally hilarious, and you will be escorted to Fez. You will pass through Ziz Valley and right through Errachidia you go.

After having a leisurely lunch at Midelt. You will continue with your trip across the Middle Atlas Mountains. You will get to see Berber towns and villagers doing their daily chores. Driving through the Cedar forests of Imouzzar, you will arrive at Fez. Finally, we will drop you off at your riad or hotel in Fez.
