Tour Itinerary for 2 days desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora.
Day 1: 7-Hour Drive from Marrakesh to Zagora.
Your first day begins in the early morning. How early? 7:00 am. We do not like wasting daylight, and we’re sure that you’ll be thanking us for this approach. You will be passing through the Tizi-n-tichka pass. And your day will be composed of exciting, memorable moments. You will pass through various Berber villages and witness goat herders doing their work.
Once arrived at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, you will be given plenty of free time to discover the UNESCO world heritage village. This place has been used as a backdrop for many modeling photoshoots, as well as commercial ones. People tend to love Morocco for its mesmerizing scenery, and directors worldwide seem to agree.
Note: In order to join a guided/group tour, a fee of two (2) euros will be requested. You will then continue to Ouarzazate to enjoy a delicious lunch. You will then be crossing the North-Eastern side of the Anti-Atlas mountains, heading towards the Oasis of Agdz.
Morocco is all about little things – and some big ones. But mainly, since this tour is going to involve a lot of driving, we’ll make use of the “little things”. Along the road, you will be seeing unbelievable scenery. The Draa Valley road offers some extraordinary landscapes for you to see. And we’re sure that you’ll love seeing thousands of date palms around the vast oases. Interestingly, Draa Valley also happens to be home to Morocco’s largest Palm tree plantation. You will meet up with your lovely camels once in Zagora.
Gorgeous – day and night.
At this point, you would’ve already heard your guide’s view on camels and the desert. And you can believe every word of it. Because this is where the real fun of Morocco begins. You will witness a gorgeous, shining, yellow light coming from afar. That, dear guest, is the desert’s beaming sunset. This will be a soul cleansing moment, and the best part is that there’s yet more to come.
Finally, you will arrive at our secure and hidden Berber desert camp at dusk. Then sit beside a cozy bonfire. The desert’s magical atmosphere will certainly make you relaxed. Additionally, you will sleep beneath the starlit skies of the desert and enjoy its mysterious silence. You will overnight at this enchanting spot, and continue on with your 2 days desert tour from Marrakech in the early morning.
Day 2: Zagora to Ouarzazate to Marrakesh
Your morning begins with delights. Enjoy a Moroccan breakfast in the most Moroccan way possible – in the middle of the desert, surrounded by nothing but sand and camels. After having a tummy-full of delicious Moroccan delights, you will hop back on your camels and roam the desert once more. You will find your driver set and ready for your departure to Ouarzazate.
But before we bid you farewell, you will first pay a visit to the Taourirt Kasbah and have a delicious, yet again, Moroccan lunch at a local Café. After enjoying the scenes and Morocco’s hospitality, you will head back to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains.
Your tour ends at 7:00 pm during winter months and 6:00 pm during summer. Subsequently, your driver will drop you off at the gorgeous Jemaa El-Fnaa square.
